Next up on the list of Drunk Elephant products to review is the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum.

This is a vitamin B5 serum that is supposed to provide your skin intense hydration to relieve dryness, dullness, and uneven texture and skin tone.

When I first heard about the B-Hydra serum, I was a bit skeptical. Was this serum really going to be as hydrating as it claimed? Well, after several weeks of using it, you can color me impressed.

My Review

Application

The Drunk Elephant B-Hydra serum is slightly thicker and, dare I say, gloopier than your average serum. It's milky in appearance but the texture is slippery and glides easily onto the skin. It also absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave any kind of residue so you could use this during the day under makeup (though I've only tried it at night so far).

Drunk Elephant recommends mixing this serum in with the C-Firma vitamin C day serum (check out my review of that product). I haven't tried that yet, mostly because I've only used the B-Hydra serum at night and the C-Firma serum during the day. I do find that the B-Hydra serum mixes well with my regular moisturizer or facial oil to give it an extra oomph.

Packaging

As usual, I love the packaging of all Drunk Elephant products. I purchased a mini size of the B-Hydra serum and also lucked out by getting it as a 100-point perk from Sephora, so I haven't actually had the need to purchase the full size yet. The two minis last quite a long time, and the packaging of them is just as cute as I've come to expect from Drunk Elephant.

Results

I was not expecting to fall in love with this serum, but I think I might have. It feels really nice on the skin, and I've definitely noticed that my skin feels significantly more hydrated when I use this serum than when I skip it. It has has a soothing, cooling quality that makes it good for sensitive or irritated skin. I haven't noticed any differences in the texture or brightness of my skin from using this serum, but the hydration is definitely there! The B-Hydra serum has been a real help during the miserably cold, dry Boston winter when my skin is extra-prone to dryness and sensitivity.

Bottom line: Will repurchase!

Surprising myself, I think that I will actually repurchase the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra serum once my trial sizes run out. I think it's a great serum for folks with sensitive skin that's dry or dehydrated. It's also a great product to mix in to your existing moisturizers and oils for an extra boost of hydration. I'm excited to use this during the summer mixed in with a lighter moisturizer like the Drunk Elephant Protini gel cream, and I think it's worth the $52.
