My Favorite Concealers for Pale Skin

If there's one makeup product I purchase more than anything else, it's concealer.

At any given time, I have at least 3 or 4 concealers in rotation in my daily makeup routine.

Concealer was the very first makeup product I started wearing on a regular basis back when I was a preteen. My mom gave me an old tube of Lancome Effacernes, and I was hooked.

Since I have extremely pale skin and persistent dark undereye circles that are genetic (no amount of sleep can fix these babies), concealer has become my trusted companion over the years. I've tried a million, and I have still yet to find the perfect one that combines coverage, blendability, a lightweight and non-cakey formula, and a snow-white shade that won't oxidize.

However, I have discovered many favorites that work amazingly well and that I can share with my fellow pale-skinned, perpetually tired-looking gals.

1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

The first up on my list of concealer faves is Maybelline Fit Me, which comes in a nice range of shades (I wear the lightest one). It's incredibly creamy and blendable and has great coverage for either undereye circles or blemishes. I don't find that it creases on me if I set it with some translucent powder, and it layers nicely if I want to build up the coverage. This is the only concealer on this list that I've repurchased, because I find it's perfect for everyday.

2. L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Concealer

Next up is another drugstore fave, L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur concealer. This one is a little more pricey for a drugstore product, but you get way more bang for your buck. The tube has 0.6 fl oz of product and you only need a tiny bit to cover up whatever imperfections you want to conceal. It has great coverage while being lightweight, blendable, and buildable. I use the shade 301 Fair, which is a pretty good match for my skin and doesn't oxidize.

3. Maybelline Master Conceal

If you're looking for more heavy-duty coverage at a low price point, look no further than the Maybelline Master Conceal. The light shade is super pale and even works as a brightener for my skintone. It has incredible coverage without being cakey, and once set with a translucent powder it lasts all day or night. You just have to be a little wary of applying too much product, because it doesn't build very well. I prefer using this concealer when I'm going for a more full-coverage, glamorous look.

4. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

Similar to the Maybelline Master Conceal, the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer gives incredible coverage without being cakey. It's a little more expensive, but the shade range is much better and the texture is a little smoother and easier to blend. It lasts for ages after being set, and I don't find that it creases or settles into fine lines. A little goes a very long way with this concealer, so I find it's worth the price. This is my go-to concealer if I'm going to an important event and want to look my best.

5. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

My only favorite high-end concealer is the famed Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. The shade range is excellent and the lightest shade works well as a brightener for my skin tone. It has great coverage and blends out beautifully, and it also does a good job covering blemishes and other imperfections. I haven't repurchased this one because it's very expensive and there are lots of other concealers I want to try, but it's a wonderful product if it's in your budget.

6. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener

The newest addition to my concealer collection is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in the shade "Brightener," which is a pale, slightly pinkish shade. I find this one does the best job of brightening my undereye area, but the coverage isn't as intense as the Master Concealer or MAC Pro Longwear. The applicator is a little strange, but it hasn't given me any problems so far. Regardless, I've been really enjoying it since I purchased it the other week, and I find it's great for everyday use.

Honorable Mention: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

I couldn't finish this list without mentioning the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, which is my go-to concealer for blemishes. I don't use this one under my eyes since I find it doesn't give me the coverage I want, but if you don't have dark purple undereye circles like me I'm sure you would enjoy it. I use this concealer to cover up any blemishes, acne scars, or other imperfections on my skin and I find it does a great job of concealing without looking cakey or drawing attention to the area. It hasn't broken me out either, which is a miracle! The shade I use is Fair Neutral, and it's a perfect match for my skin.

Since I'm a self-professed makeup junkie and I'm always on the hunt for the perfect concealer, there are many more on my list to try (especially the Tarte Shape Tape, which I'm dying to get my hands on!). If you also suffer from dark undereye circles, let me know if you have any Holy Grail concealers I should try out. I also have a long list of concealers I don't particularly enjoy, so I may make a list of those in the future as well.
